In the period from September 2 to 3, 2025, the fifth project meeting was held at the premises of the Technical Faculty of the University of Bihać as part of the Erasmus+ project “Network of Centers for Regional Short Study Programs in the Countries of the Western Balkans – WBNET”.
The aim of the meeting was to strengthen the connection between higher education institutions and the labor market through the establishment of centers for short study programs. These centers will develop and implement specialized courses in the field of multimedia engineering and programming, based on the needs of employers.
The programs are intended for individuals seeking to acquire additional skills and competencies, and will be delivered by professors from partner institutions in the EU and Western Balkans, as well as experts from the industry sector. Upon completion, participants will receive certificates detailing the attended courses and practical training.

Industry representatives presented their needs in the fields of electrical engineering, software engineering, computing, and multimedia, emphasizing the importance of programs that will enable employees to receive additional training and professional development in line with market dynamics.
The Technical Faculty of the University of Bihać, together with higher education institutions from Spain, Slovenia, Serbia, Kosovo, and Bosnia and Herzegovina, is in the final phase of a project aimed at implementing such flexible courses in cooperation with companies.
The WBNET project runs from December 2023 to November 2026 and promotes collaboration between academia and industry, as well as the exchange of knowledge and best practices between the Western Balkans and the EU.
