Open Day at the Faculty of Technical Sciences Inspires Future Students
On March 23, 2026, the Faculty of Technical Sciences, in cooperation with the Regional Innovation Center Zubin Potok, successfully organized an Open Day, welcoming fourth-year high school students from across the region. The event provided participants with a comprehensive overview of academic and professional opportunities offered by the Faculty, as well as insight into innovation and professional development initiatives supported by the Regional Innovation Center.
Students were introduced to study programs, enrolment requirements, and potential career paths. As part of the program, they visited faculty laboratories under the guidance of the Vice Deans, gaining valuable hands-on insight into the learning environment and ongoing projects.
The participants were addressed by the Dean of the Faculty, Prof. Dr. Zoran Golubović, along with representatives of the Regional Innovation Center Zubin Potok. Their speeches highlighted the importance of education, innovation, and lifelong professional development, as well as the need to bridge academic knowledge with real-world applications and support systems for youth.
A special highlight of the event was the presentation by the Sokolus team, who showcased their innovative idea and demonstrated how knowledge, creativity, and initiative can translate into real opportunities.
As part of the Open Day, several Erasmus+ projects were presented, including WBNET (Network of Centers for Regional Short Study Programs in the Western Balkans). This project focuses on the development and implementation of joint short study programs tailored to labor market needs. It aims to establish specialized centers offering practical, skill-oriented courses in areas such as multimedia engineering and computing.
WBNET promotes strong collaboration between higher education institutions and industry, as well as knowledge exchange between Western Balkan and EU partners, contributing to more flexible, modern, and responsive education systems.
These initiatives further demonstrate the Faculty’s active engagement in international cooperation and its commitment to advancing educational quality, mobility, and innovation.
