On 14 May 2026, the Academy of Applied Studies Kosovo and Metohija (AASKM), Department Zvečan, hosted an internal quality audit within the Erasmus+ Capacity Building in Higher Education project “Network of Centers for Regional Short Study Programs in the Countries of the Western Balkans (WBNET)”.
The audit was conducted by Prof. Slobodan Bojanić from Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (UPM), as part of the project’s quality assurance and monitoring framework. The visit focused on evaluating the implementation, quality, sustainability, and relevance of the short study programs developed through the WBNET project.
During the visit, representatives of AASKM presented the progress achieved in establishing and implementing the Center for Short Study Programs, as well as the development of two innovative short study programs: “Digital Business and Internet Security” and “Application of Modern Multimedia Tools”. The programs were designed in accordance with labor market needs and contemporary trends in digital technologies, cybersecurity, multimedia production, and digital business.
Particular attention was devoted to the practical orientation of the programs, cooperation with industry partners, organization of professional practice, and the use of modern digital learning platforms. The audit also included a review of teaching facilities, laboratories, equipment procured through the project, and promotional activities implemented to support student enrollment and lifelong learning opportunities.
The reviewer positively assessed the progress achieved at AASKM, emphasizing the institution’s commitment to the successful implementation of project activities and the development of sustainable educational models based on short study programs and micro-credentials.
The internal audit confirmed that the activities implemented at AASKM are fully aligned with the objectives of the WBNET project and contribute to the modernization of higher education, strengthening cooperation with industry, and improving opportunities for lifelong learning in the Western Balkans.
The visit represented another important milestone in the implementation of the WBNET project and further demonstrated AASKM’s commitment to innovation, quality assurance, and the development of flexible educational pathways tailored to the needs of learners and employers.
